DETAILED REPORT ON OHANAEZE NATIONAL GENERAL ASSEMBLY AND ELECTION 2013

Apart from the national officers of OHANAEZE , other people in attendance were President General Ohanaeze Justice Eze Ozobu (former President General Ohanaeze), (former president general Ohanaeze) Prof. I Irukwu, Achuzie former Secretary General Ohanaeze), Okwadike former Governor of Anambra State), Eze Ilomuanya Chairman South East Council of Traditional Rulers), Obi Gibson Nwosu Deputy Chairman South East Council of Traditional Rulers), A.B.C Nwosu former Minister of Health), Alison Madueke (former Chief of Naval Staff), Uche Chukwumerije Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria), Eddy Onuoha (Nigeria Ambassador to Hungary). Dr. Nwachukwu Anakwenze (Chairman of Igbo world Assembly) Ike Ndi Igbo and other illustrious sons of Ndiigbo from various parts of Nigeria, African countries and other parts of the world.

His Excellency, Ambassador Ralph Uwachue (OFR), the immediate past President General of OHANAEZE expended much energy, diplomatic experience, and his personal wealth, in perfecting a global union of the Igbo people, this he did and very well too with the result that Igbo people can now speak with the elusive ONE VOICE. The Igbos must be ever grateful to this great son of Igbo land for this singular achievement. All that is required now is for the new administration of OHANAEZE to build on this achievement. The new Ohanaeze President General Chief Gary Enwo-Igariwey gladdened the heart of the Igbos when he promised in his acceptance speech that he will build on the achievements of his predecessor. He said that his leadership will be all inclusive.

Another strong message from different shades of opinion of people that graced the occasion is that all issues concerning OHANAEZE must be handled and resolved through the internal mechanisms of the organization and not through any court action. The Igbo people are ready to confront and sanction all those directly or indirectly inimical to the realization of the precious Igbo agenda. Ohanaeze National Electoral Committee led by our own Chief Chris Asoluka conducted what could pass as the most credible election since the inception of Ohanaeze. The agents to the candidates were all there, they all raised no objection when asked to comment at the end of election for each elective position at the full glare of all in attendance. All delegates from Imo, Anambra, Abia, Ebonyi, Enugu, Delta, and Rivers states took turns and voted peacefully. The Diaspora was fully represented by Igbo world Assembly (IWA) led by their chairman Dr. Nwachukwu Anakwenze (IKE NDI IGBO).The Diaspora delegates all voted in the election.

OHANAEZE praised IWA for their exceptional effort and sacrifice in the quest to actualizing Igbo agenda. This successful election of the new Ohanaeze Executives dealt the enemies of Ndiigbo a serious setback and blow. Ndiigbo are once again very united and moving forward into the future in strength.
